On Monday likely the last cruise ship of the year left the harbour. Poor souls had to contend with grey skies and snow flurries! 

Note the white strip of concrete lining the near side of the harbour - the port authority dug up all the greenery/bushes/trees that were growing there, and replaced them with the long slab.  Their intent is to "beautify" the harbourfront and create a pedestrian walkway.

Well, here is the first photo of the series proper.  It was taken on October 5th, 2016, so just over 7 years ago. Note that the Alexandra pier has not yet been turned into a cruise ship terminal, it looks ancient and crumbling. A large red painted ship, one of the "lakers" that goes between Montreal and the Great Lake ports, has docked, unladen (note how high it rides in the water) at the pier, perhaps for its winter mooring.  The big concrete block-like wharf to the left is the Bickerdike pier. Classic Montreal skyline - you can see a fair bit of the Mountain, including the cross on the far right. It is almost devoid of construction cranes - one is visible on the far left, part of the Montreal Canadiens Tower condo complex.
