8 am October 12th.  This view actually looks almost due West.  The sun rises behind the camera angle and is glinting through the clouds, which still thickly cover the city. The cruisers have left so you can see the new cruise ship terminal at the Alexandra pier in its entirety.

Well, here is the first photo of the series proper.  It was taken on October 5th, 2016, so just over 7 years ago. Note that the Alexandra pier has not yet been turned into a cruise ship terminal, it looks ancient and crumbling. A large red painted ship, one of the "lakers" that goes between Montreal and the Great Lake ports, has docked, unladen (note how high it rides in the water) at the pier, perhaps for its winter mooring.  The big concrete block-like wharf to the left is the Bickerdike pier. Classic Montreal skyline - you can see a fair bit of the Mountain, including the cross on the far right. It is almost devoid of construction cranes - one is visible on the far left, part of the Montreal Canadiens Tower condo complex.
